Potential occurrence of Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze in the urban forest of Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil

The objective of this study was to develop the potential distribution model Araucaria angustifolia and verify relevance Curitiba’s urban forest for its conservation. developed considering meteorological topo-edaphic criteria through MaxEnt® algorithm. map classified into three classes environmental adequacy: high, medium, low. Pedology declivity were most representative species distribution. presented an accuracy 93.4%. northern region Curitiba areas along watercourses highest adequacy A. angustifolia. A total 72.94% analyzed green have medium and/or high species. We recommend creating protected in regions indicated by model, aiming at favoring conservation reducing pressures on their populations environment.
